Advantages of LED lighting
LONG USEFUL LIFE
LED technology does not melt, but suffers a degradation of the luminous flux. The useful life of the LED is considered to end when its luminosity is reduced by more than 70% of its initial value. To ensure its long life, it is very important to have a good heatsink, with which 50,000 hours of life are guaranteed.
LESS MAINTENANCE
LED luminaires last much longer than conventional light sources, so it is not necessary to constantly invest in spare parts. Periodic maintenance costs are eliminated, which improves the profitability of the installation.
HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Due to the extraordinary and continuous evolution of LEDs towards energy efficiency, the light output of LEDs cannot be compared with their consumption. For this reason, its efficiency is not measured with watts, but with the calculations of lumens per watt or lumens per LED.
WIDE RANGE OF COLORS BY NATURE
With the combination of three colors (red, green and blue) it is possible to obtain a wide range of colors. White shades are available in color temperatures ranging from 2,700°K to 8,000°K. The use of filters is not required, thus avoiding reducing the efficiency of the luminaire, since the LED already provides the desired color.
INSTANT ON
The LED has the fastest ignition compared to conventional light sources. Being another of the characteristics of the LEDs that its life is not reduced by the repeated actions of turning it on and off.
EXTREME ROBUSTNESS
Another point in favor is the robustness: it is not that the LEDs are robust, but that this technology is resistant to continuous vibrations.
DIRECT LIGHT
The LED light is fully directional, so there are no light losses due to reflection. This significantly contributes to increasing the efficiency and profitability of lighting projects.
ECOLOGICAL
Virtually all of the LED is recyclable. Its compact design reduces the volume of the luminaire and waste. It does not contain mercury or other elements harmful to the environment. In addition, its ease of being “dimmable” allows to reduce energy consumption.
ABSENCE OF INFRARED AND ULTRAVIOLET
The LEDs used for lighting projects in SunLEDS do not emit ultraviolet light, thereby avoiding infrared heat and the wear of materials on sideboards. This technology only emits flux in the visible spectrum of light that the human eye is capable of perceiving.
